What is TradeCalcs?

TradeCalcs is a free collection of professional-grade trading calculators designed for active traders and investors. Our tools help you make more informed decisions about position sizing, risk management, and strategy evaluation.

Every calculator on this site is completely free to use, requires no sign-up, and works instantly in your browser.

The project began with a simple frustration: the math that actually keeps trading accounts alive — position sizing, risk/reward, expectancy, drawdown recovery — is scattered across spreadsheets, forum posts, and paywalled tools, often without showing how the numbers are derived. TradeCalcs brings that math together in one place, presents each formula in the open, and pairs every calculator with a plain-English explanation and a worked example so you can learn the concept, not just read off a result.

Who Builds and Maintains TradeCalcs

TradeCalcs is founded, written, and maintained by AD Trading, an active trader and developer. It is not a broker, a signal service, or a paid course — we sell nothing and have no incentive to push you toward any product or position. The site is funded by unobtrusive advertising, which is what keeps every tool free for everyone.

AD Trading's background spans hands-on trading across equities, futures, forex, and options, combined with software development. That combination is why the calculators prioritise the unglamorous fundamentals professionals actually rely on — risk-first sizing, expectancy, capital preservation — rather than flashy indicators or get-rich-quick promises. If you spot an error or have a suggestion, we genuinely want to hear it; corrections from working traders are how the tools stay accurate.

Our Methodology & Accuracy

Every calculator is based on standard, well-established financial formulas — the same arithmetic taught in risk-management literature and used on professional trading desks. We show the formula on each page so you can verify the math yourself rather than taking our word for it. Where a calculation involves a simplifying assumption (for example, the options tool reporting intrinsic value at expiration rather than live option pricing, or the compound calculator assuming a constant return), we state that limitation plainly on the page so you know exactly what the result does and does not represent.

We deliberately avoid hidden "edges" or proprietary scoring that you cannot inspect. The qualitative labels some tools display — such as a trade-quality or edge rating — are simple, transparent thresholds derived from the same numbers shown alongside them, meant as quick guidance, not as advice to take or avoid any specific trade.
